Iowa Teachers Meet The Makerbot Replicator 2

Iowa Teachers "Meet the Makerbot" Replicator 2

Last week, members of the Engineering and Technology community in Des Moines Iowa gathered to put the Makerbot Replicator 2 through its paces. Instructors from Hoover High School, North and Lincoln High School in Des Moines, as well as a number of industry representatives stopped by to test the machine. On hand for the demonstration was Roger Hunt from Triad Productions, an amusement and exhibit design company based in Des Moines. Roger has been working with his Makerbot since November and brought along a number of his successes.

Small demonstrations like this one have been keeping Midwest Technology busy since the release of the PLA optimized Makerbot Replicator 2 in September 2012, as interest in desktop 3d printing grows across the nation. The Makerbot is a great tool for inexpensive rapid prototyping and is fast becoming the most recognized machine in its class by large organizations including Ford Motor Company and NASA.

Our next "Meet the Makerbot" demonstration will be Jan 28-31 in Orlando Florida at the FETC National Conference. We will join Holmquist Educational Consultants and R.T. Johnson Company in booth 116. Stop by and pick up your own Makerboted artifact.
